Jordi Torras is a Barcelona photographer, currently based in Breda (Girona).

It is formed in the GrisArt School with teachers of the stature of Manolo Laguillo, Mariano Zuzunaga and Jordi Guillamet among others. At the end of his studies, he continues his training by carrying out various workshops to update his knowledge, among which the portrait workshop by Humberto Rivas (National Photography Award of the Ministry of Culture in 1997). He also makes two workshops (2012 and 2015) with Rebeca Saray, about lighting, direction of a photo shoot and digital treatment in fashion and beauty. A workshop in 2014 by Diego Espada at Fotok on portrait lighting schemes. A high speed lighting workshop by Profoto. A still life lighting workshop by Emilia Valencia in 2017. Also during 2017, he holds a workshop on lighting and gastronomic photography.

In 2002 he decided to turn photography into a way of earning a living, professionalizing himself by creating his first company. In 2008, he closes that first stage to join his partner Gemma Navidad (graphic designer) and create Nexus 13.9, where he sets up his photo studio. It is here where he performs his professional work, never forgetting his most personal projects, such as the one published by the Artual publishing house in 2011 in the magazine La Fotografía Actual (nº143). In 2016, participates in the realization of the "Calendari Solidari pel Projecte ACTIVA'Tt of the Hospital de Sant Pau", organized by Horta Esportiva, and in which it collaborates, yielding the lighting, InnovaFoto and ProFoto.

In 2018, he closes this stage, settling in an office in Breda (Girona), where he makes his reports and works, either moving the set to the customer's home, or renting a set. Two new lines of action are beginning at this moment: gastronomic photography and tattoo photography. She also opens her first online store where she sells her most personal work, printed in the most exquisite papers with small or unique editions.

In 2020, the publisher Hoaki Books-PromoPress contacted him to offer him the possibility of taking the photographs of the book "The Secret Life of Tattoos", to which he willingly agreed. The book will be published in the spring of 2022. and will be published in several languages ​​(Spanish, English, French and the possibility of making a German version is being studied). 

 In February 2021, he started working in the image department at the company Psittacus Catalonia. From this moment on, his work focuses almost exclusively on photography and video for this company, and he only accepts editorial jobs that motivate him especially.
